| and no lie, they sure do. since my "Danger Ranger" Project was scrapped, my da went and bought me a mazda pickup for 300 bucks, 254xxx miles on it, got a little 2.2 carb'd 4 banger and a 5 speed tranny, love the manual trans, the only thing i hate is that #1, the speakers suck, like horrible but i go new ones just got to install them, and #2, bungee cords hold the tailgate shut. other than that, love it. the only thing different about the truck now is it dont have a bunch of crap in the bed and i pulled off the ladder racks. | |

| Looks like its been well cared for, and thats important for a truck to have that many miles. From the pictures, it looks like it was used, but not abused. Not much rust either, and thats key to keeping a vehicle for a long time. And that tailgate picture is hilarious! I dont mean to doubt you Eric but are you sure that is carburated? I thought Ford/Mazda stopped using them in 1987. Just curious. | |

| i can see your doubt, hell, i was doubted too until i tore off the air cleaner and say a 2 barrel sittin underneath, i was very surprised. the tailgate bungees were modified as of that picture, i dont have quite as many now, ll try and get se updated pics of it, tat when i first got it. Pros- great on gas, stick shift, "cab plus", interior is in good shape, runs anddrives excellent Cons- needs front strut bushings underneath, needs plugs, wires, cap, rotor, speakers, antenna, tailgate handle so i dnt have to use bungees, tint needs removed since you cansee out the back window, needs cleaned and paint is bad. smll amount of rust in back top of the cab where ladders once peeled all paint off from sliding, rusted a little bit, but thats the only rust on the truck, and no 4x4 overall, this truck is a diamond n the rough, i love it, its a blast o drive, lovin th 5 speed. radio doesnt barely work, but like i aid, i have new sony explode speakers or it, little 6 inchers, so its all good. still want t geta blazer though, for trails nd whenever i take my lady out, she like to be comfy and i would like something with an auto tranny. the truck runs like its brand new but it misfires evry once in a while, whih i because of the plug wires, they are cracked and melted, i have to reroute them so they are away front the exaust manifold. | |

| In 1988, all Ford engines were Fuel Injected across the board. | |

| thats great for ford, but this is not a ford, this was before ford bought out mazda, i think they bought them out in like 94, they are mazda engines, not ford. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_B-Series_(North_America) "Mazda's partnership with Ford has resulted in the sharing of this vehicle—the Mazda B-Series and Ford Ranger are essentially the same after 1994." "Third generation (1986–1993) A new B-Series was introduced in 1986 and was produced until 1993. A 4-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission were offered. Part-time four wheel drive was an option. The 2.6 L Mitsubishi-powered B2600 was introduced in 1987. This year also saw the Mazda 2.2 L straight-4 being offered in the B2200, with the smaller 2.0 L engine phased out later. The Mitsubishi engine was gone for 1989, replaced by a new family of Mazda powerplants. The Nikki carburetors were phased out in the 1991 model years in favour of EFI (fuel injection)." | |

| 86 was the year ford switched everything to fuel injection.. it was crappy and very tempermental, but what fuel injection isn't? i beg to differ about mazdas lasting forever.. the motors do, i believe they are the yota 22R motors.. but mazda had a lot of suspension issues, much like ford with their IFS.. wheel alignments will come as often as oil changes and your ball joints will more than likely only last you a max of 3 years after replacement | |

| i think you are right no the engines running forever, and i agree 100% with the suspension issues. i found out not too long after we got the truck that it needed front lower strut brace bushings. and it has the rear air adjustable suspension and those are shot too. | |

Honestly Eric, who cares what her parents think? Your a teenage guy going to high school, by default your broke. As long as she likes you thats all that matters. You have to like your truck, no one else. | |
