| Seriously thinking of adding this truck to the fleet. I'm in need of a crew cab, but not really in need of a dually. I do tow, but never came up against something my 2500HD cant handle. Maybe I am dreaming, but man is it clean! What do you think? Only thing that worries me is the size. Having never owned a dually before, I'm a little nervous about it. Parking, etc... But then again there was a time that the Suburban seemed difficult to own. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=286057461&dealer_id=100001174&car_year=2000&doors=FourMy buddy at the local GMC dealership ran the vin. It came from the factory as a SRW 3500 with an 8 foot bed. So, that means somewhere along the lines it was converted. Thoughts? I dont know if this is good news or bad news? | |

| i would take a look at it if its something you could use.. there is always money to be made if you get a good goosneck car carrier.. when i had my 3500 trubo deisel a guy wanted to pay me to tow his race car every weekend but i never got the truck up and running good enough.. it all depends on how much free time you have.. it can look good on the outside but i would check the underside to see how well that bed is built.. just look at the welds.. if they look like backyard bob did it then its probley a shooty job but if they look good then it was probley done profesionally and the guy sent it right from the dealer to have the bed put on. you can always take that off and get a bed for it. or you could convert into a legit tow truck.. it all depends on what your plans are. with that low milage i doubt it was ever a daily driver and it was probley well taken care of. | |

| take a look and see if a dually axle was swapped in, or if dually adapters were used.
The dual wheels dont add much problems. They dont stick out any farther than the mirrors, so if your mirrors clear, so should the duals.

| nice looking truck... now if only you could plant an engine with 0.1L of displacement more between the frame rails it might be worth considering..... | |

| I did some soul searching, and more research, and I am going to pass on the truck. After finding out MA requires commercial insurance and plates on dually trucks, its just not worth it to me.
Thank you to everyone for your insight and opinions. I appreciate it.

| that sucks.. around here you just need to pay for class 2 weigh laws if you do any kind of towing with it. it sucks because its a sticker that goes right next to the inspection sticker and even if you not towing the turnpike and bridges nail you for it. any vehicle over 8000 pounds has to have it. | |

Thank you to everyone for your insight and opinions. I appreciate it. That's the same up here in Ontario. The insurance companies get ya once you go over the 3/4 ton. And even the licensing office once a pc too
