07-10 Silverado Door Lock Switch

Replacing a faulty Door Lock Switch in a 2007-10 Silverado
First thing is to isolate the problem to make sure it's definitely the switch and not a fuse, wiring, or a actuator.

Driver's side doesn't work but the passenger side does.
Driver's side does work under any condition. etc: with door open or closed and with key on or off.
It must be the switch.



Tools required is a Wide blade slotted screwdriver and 2 small slotted screwdrivers
A 10mm 1/4 drive socket


After receiving the switch from the dealership. I compared it with the one in my truck.




First step. Pry the door handle cover off with a wide blade slotted screwdriver.
With some upward force, begin to gently twist the screwdriver to pry the cover off.



Here is what they look like. Take extra care. the mounting tab can easily break.

With the door handle cover off you can remove the top and bottom bolts with the 10mm socket

With door handle gone. Now you can pry the door console up to gain access to the wiring harnesses.

Again, I compare the new with the old.

Very important Note the tabs on the side of the switch.

Using you sharpest and thinnest flat blade screwdriver and spread the sides to allow clearance for the switch to come out.
Don't pry it out, insert the scrwdvrs then lift the switch out of it's home.

While Unlock the wiring harness plug, lift the plug from the switch.



Plug the harness into the new switch.
Before installing the switch into it's home... Test it.
Then snap it into it's home.
YOUR DONE. Reassemble
