its a yj but no the 6.0 motor and trans is for the mustang.. the heads, intake and TB are for the 6.0 firebird.. both are gonna have the same cam, crank, rods and pistons so once both are together we are gonna dyno them to see what makes more power.. carb or fuel injection.. they should be really close though.. both around 700-800 hp.. lol..
I'll put my money on the EFI I think it will beat the carb on the dyno, but not by much

i finally got some work done on the c10.. with everything going on at the shop i havent had much time to work on my own junk.. today i loaded it up on the trailer and took it to my buddies house because A. i cant paint anything at my shop and B. i cant work on anything at my house thanks to the township so the only option is his house lol.. enough said here are the pics..
all powerwashed and primered up...
first coat of black..
final coat and put back together..
its got new rotors, calipers, flex lines and wheel bearings.. the last time i drove the truck prior to ripping the 454 out was to the speed shop to pick up the viper exhuast and all.. the passenger side caliper locked up on me and smoked the whole time.. it was the flex line that went bad but it was time to replace everything anyways and paint it up.. such and improvement.. i also body matched the blower box and im gonna do the same on everything on the driver side.. black out red.. the only colors going on the truck..

Wow !!! Nice work Joe Looks awesome.
I have to commend you Joe... You always seem to run into road block, like the shop being so busy and the township breathing down your neck about your yard. And yet, you don't let that get you down. You still keep putting out awesome work. WAY TO GO Man

i ran into another little snag.. got a little more rot then i wanted to see.. least now i know why the drivers floor was getting wet.. its in the worst possible spot.. right were the cowl meets the firewall and the runoff from the windshield goes right into the cab.. good thing the floor is already rotted out or else i would be swimming when it rained.. lol
this is were the jeep stands right now.. both motors are out.. today im gonna burn the old motor mounts off and then position the 360 in there and then mark where i need to weld the new mounts.. i swear i ordered the bolt on motor mount kit but this is what they sent me.. lol
i think i have the wiring figured out but i wont know till i go to fire it up.. im not gonna mount anything till i hear it atleast crank over inside the jeep but we shall see..

oh yeah.. that jeep motor almost killed me.. i went to take off the trans mount and i had a dead man under the transfer case... well apperently i didnt notice that the passenger side motor mount was completely snapped off cause when i went to lower the dead man down so i could pull the motor it came crashing down.. it shifted all the sudden and then swung twards my head and then the whole thing hit the ground.. good thing i didnt need any of it.. lol..

a little more rust repair on the red truck then i though.. the previous owner decided a jegs magizine and bondo where a good repair for the rotted out rocker..
and one good swing of the hammer did all this damage..

i dont think this is right but i stuffed a 6.0 ls in a foxbody.. its all wired up and runs great.. i was gonna go to the track tonight and see what it could do but i replaced all the front suspension and crossmember with tubular stuff and the alignment is so out of wack i didnt wanna mess with it.. lol. anyways.. here is a pic of it in the car.. tomorrow i should have a video of it at the track.. the cam in it is rediculous and it sounds wicked..

beginning of RANT...
the other day a buddy of mine scored a really nice 01 grand cherokee with a blown 4.7 for 800 bucks.. the thing is fully loaded and in mint shape, garage kept, yadda yaddA... the original owner never changed the oil in 80k so it eventually seized up and he practically gave it away...
yesterday i scored a nice 4.7 out of a wrecked 03 durango. i had a little shitter geo metro at my shop that i traded the guy for the motor.. he got a decent car and i got a good motor. i drove the durago around and everything worked great.. it just had a bent frame from getting Tboned in the passenger side.. here is where it gets interesting..
today i pulled the motor out of the durago without a hitch.. came out like butter and went into the cherokee like a glove.. got everything buttoned up and went to fire it up.. it would eather backfire out the intake or shoot flames out the exhuast.. after triple checking all the wiring i called up my buddies dad who use to be a big wig corporate mechanic for chysler.. he told me about something i would have never guessed in a million years.. the crank position tone ring and the cam position tone ring are totally different. someone decided in late 02 that it would be a good idea to change just those 2 things.. all they do is give the positioning sensors a point to read and that controls the spark and injectors.. the 01 uses a 16 tooth crank tone ring and the 03 uses a 32 tooth tone ring.. there is no easy way to change out the crank ring.. i already did the cam ring but it only made it alittle better.. now it fires on 3 cylinders in a row rather then 2.. lol.. needless to say the moral of this story is
EVERYTHING IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE... i said it before and ill say it again... I HATE JEEP CHYSLER... lol

did a little more to the red truck.. rust repair 101.. dog i hate it.. lmao..
i still have to fit the replacement panels a little better but it will make a world of difference to have a solid cab.. lol.. rockers, kickpanles and floorboard are getting repaired.. im gonna work on the firewall after i make sure the motor fits good.. i want to sit it as far back as possible for good weight transfer so im gonna be makeing my own mounts now and welding them to the frame..

Feel for ya man... I despise rust repair. More than rust repair? I hate making my own replacement panels. I would rather do rust repair with replacement panels.

HaHaHa The air hammer is a killer inside the shop and inside body panels. LOL Hey Joe !!! The next time your talking to your body panel supplier... ask if they can get their hands on the lower hinge panels to my 57 Chevy Panel Van. I would appreciate it. Apparently they are very back order everywhere. I was hoping he may have them in stock.

i pick myself up a winter toy since the wife is gonna need the blazer and i wanted a 4x4 c10 anyways. my scrap guy was gonna scrap the truck but i told him if he did that then i wouldnt give him anymore metal so he signed the title over to me. lol. its another 85 and it also came with a plow so thats a plus. i think im gonna get rid if the ditch the little s10 and get this one on the road instead. here she is and its got a good tailgate so im gonna be using that for the red truck. its just a beater but it has a bottom end knock.
and here is something to laught about.. another one of them 100k oil change blazers. what is wrong with people.. lol
