| the handle to open my tailgate is broke and I need ideas on how to fix it. It looks like some kind of cast aluminum which I can only imagine how hard that would be to weld, but its worth a try I suppose. Any ideas on how to fix it? | |

| new handle.. it's not worth welding.. they're junk cast aluminum and it'll just break again | |

| yeah... if you havent figured it out already its gonna be a pain to open but it can be done.. i would just go to the yard and get another or make your own setup by attaching bike brake cables to the latches and then drill a hole in the inside center of the tailgate so you can just reach over and pull them.. beats tryin to adjust a beat up tailgate latch.. lol | |

| no.. lol you can take the latch and roc out of any fullsize ford tailgate from your year range and it will work perfectly | |

| well i pulled it off today and JB welded the hell out of it. We'll see how it is tomorrow. | |

| not for a friggin tailgate handle! and no, it won't hold very long.. it's like dry playdough, it breaks into pieces | |

whats the big deal, it aint like ya can see it. Ive had JB hold good for a long time. Im not to concerned with it. Wanna get a new tailgate anyways, mines all beat to hell and rusted out on the bottom. | |

| it won't hold long.. it's not meant for that kind of abuse.. you'd be far better off going to the junkyard, spending 5 bucks and getting 1 that's still in 1 piece | |
