I saw this in a local parking lot. Opinions ? Be nice !!!

I saw this Dodge in a Walmart parking lot with these cool looking exhaust tips.
Made me think of the exhaust tips on this 57 Chevy Panel Van I like.
I was wondering if they would look good on my 57 Chev panel van.

I dont care for them on that dodge but on the old panel, I think they would look cool. Stuff like that looks out of place on the newer stuff.

they would look good on the panel van if your gonna have it dropped like that. im doing something similar to my red truck when it comes time

They look good, but i'm not a fan. I've seen more then a few with the paint above them burned off.

yeah it'll mess your paint. you should put stacks.

I would luv to see a picture of one with Stacks.... Not just a picture of one with stacks But one that looks good with stacks LOL

That would make worst if it was here it would RUST and ROT body with that heat exhaust.

i saw them on a 1940 chrysler, and it looks really nice... the guy hasnt driven it enough for the paint to have problems. i have also seen holes for exhaust pipes frenched into the body sides, that had a chrome tip coming out of it..

I think it looks good but yes a question as to whether or not the paint would suffer

honestly i doubt the paint would suffer at all.. first off even on a hot summer day i could put my hand on the exhaust tip of any given car and secondly how hot do you think a black cars paint gets in the dead of summer in +100 degreee heat.. hot enough to leave a blister on your skin.. i can vouge for that. lol

I totally agree with ya Joe. I think some of the manufactures are now incorporating the exhaust tips into their bodies.
I just can't think of any examples right now.
The exhaust tips DO get hot. So much so that you can't hang on to them, but hot enough the blister paint.

yeah i friend of mine has similar tips on his s10.. they dont screw to the bed though its dual tip that comes out the side of the bed with a trim ring around the hole... he shots flames with it when he is drifting and the paint hasnt blistered yet.. lol

i still think down the sides would look clean.

on a panel van that low you would have to raise the rockers up about 6 inches..

yeah. that depends how low he wants it.

I have some pictures of a Cayenne GTS. Porsche with the dual exhaust coming out of it's plastic bumper. But I can't upload pictures to my photobucket since my Firefox updates.

once you start getting that low exhuast clearane becomes an issue.. ask me how i know.. every one of my trucks that i have lowered dump before the rear axle out the side or just under the bed. its a pita making a good flowing pipe with that much of a bend in it.. specially the 3.5 inch pipe thats on the big block

yaaaay for posting nearly a month after the last post in this thread!

i love those style tips on trucks.. a lot of mini truck guys are starting to run them to prevent any exhaust FAILs while dragging..

lol.. i have seen exhuast fails on regurlar trucks.. aperently winter snowbanks were invisable this year.. lol.. i seen a newer f150 that had the exhaust bent conpletly around the rear axle.. funny thing is it wasnt leakin at all and the exhuast was still coming out the proper hole..
