| Okay, so we do not have an AUDIO TECH section, but thats okay...LOL I found these on another forum. A member there fabbs them himself. They are not bad for the money considering what a pre-fabbed, out of the box, unit would cost at the store..... What do you all think? Wouldn't this look good in my Jeep? - Quote :
Okay, I thought I would make a new thread on this because the other one is crowded with Misc!
I am making custom XJ cubby boxes for 10" subs, they are true sealed boxes that sink in the rear cubby. This is truly a nice setup and underpriced compared to prebuilt XJ boxes that look bad and rattle like crazy. Those JL boxes are like 625.00 with no sub included. Boxes are right around 0.75 CuFt which is perfect for most all 10" subs.
I can do my box with a brand new Kicker Comp Vr 10" sub for around 250.00 shipped and it will blow away any of those other enclosures.
Just a Box is 150.00 shipped.Covered in Black or Gray. May be able to do tan as well | |

| To me, speakers should be heard, not seen. I dont like them. If the where recessed into the housing and had a grill over them, they would look much better and the trunk would be more usable IMO. | |

| I think they look pretty cool and a smart use of the space. But I have 2 concerns... I was always tot that speakers should not face anything straight on, especially face each other. Speakers should deflect off surfaces to perform prop. And my second concern is, this is your cargo area. Shouldn't they be protected with a cool cage cover.
I like it

| Well to answer the concerns, this is a mock up photo, I am planing to get speaker covers for sure, or I will bust right through them..... These actually are the ones I really like.... Now as for the whole facing eachother... in doing some digging, I cannot put one of the driver's side anyways due to the spacing and design being unsable. I am not sure I want to run a SINGLE, but I may. I am looking into other DUAL deisgns though.... If you hve pics of betetr ideas.... I am open to them! I have not bought anything, nor decided on anything as of yet.... | |

| those are NICE speaker covers... Very nice. I was thinking more along the lines of just a removeble speaker box. It would be handy for tailgate parties. You could also pull the speaker box out and set it on the roof or on the ground by the camp fire. Just a thought | |
