| the s10 doesn't need a lot of work to be finished.. just a motor, mono-leaf the back, plumb the front bags the right way with the right stuff and put an interior in it.. only thing in it is the dash and column lol.. i'll finish it when i feel like it, it's not going anywhere anytime soon | |

| wooooooo.. now that i'm actually on a computer, i can post like a normal person lol
so.. some history on the new POS..
my dad's buddy joe bought it 11 years ago (if i'm counting right) and never really did much with it except put that stupid camo duck tape on the body line, which was the first thing to go. he's 1 of those guys who sees something, wants it, gets it and it just sits there (like the ton of other vehicles he has on his property.. i'll make a list up of that at the bottom, just for fun lol). for about a month he tinkered with it.. cleaned it up a little, finished the motor (just accessories and stuff had to be bolted up), and put a new bench seat in it.. OOOOOW lol. anyway, about 3 to 3-1/2 months ago, he acquired a shop with hopes of opening a full service auto shop (body shop, regular mechanic work and restorations/customization), all was fine and dandy. he wound up putting too much money into it and left himself with nothing for xmas gifts and utilities.. so some of the stuff on his property had to go. he put this truck out for 850.. it ran decent at the time, good oil pressure/compression, all that good stuff.. so he went out to start it 1 morning, like anyone would do when they're trying to sell something.. to keep the battery charged and etc.. well, he let it run for a couple minutes and went in the house.. 20 minutes later, he comes outside to a truck that's smoking and knocking it's butt off.. no oil pressure.. the rod that drives the oil pump somehow stripped the hex in the bottom of the distributor.. so he dropped the price to 500 and no one bit, so he dropped it to 400, then 350 and finally 350 with the lift. once i heard that, i jumped on it. needless to say, it killed my hopes of getting the SC tbird i wanted, but oh well.. a new mud truck., still a win. i tried getting him to sell me the bumpers he had for his wife's truck(her's are bent and twisted, she likes to hit things.. repeatedly..) but he wouldn't budge on them, so i got stuck with the ridiculous 5" diameter tube bumpers.. YUCK
so, i grabbed my distributor for my 306 and the tags off my S10 and drove it the whole 2 miles to my house, where it sat for a max of 4 hours lol.. my neighbor offered his shop to get the motor out and rebuild it, so i said 'why not' and took him up on it.. then i got to thinking about my cousin's poor 351W which has been sitting under a tarp for about 6-8 months, since he got rid of his notch back.. i asked him what he wanted for it and we made a deal.. sweeeet.. he even gave me 1 of the dyno sheets from the last time he had his setup tuned.. only thing i didn't get was his carb, so i'm on the hunt for a demon
anyway, the motor is all freshened up (as far as the lower end goes) and ready to go in.. i'd like to get a higher stall converter before i put the motor in, but my summit 1800 stall will have to do for now.. i'll just have to turn the idle up a little and make sure i keep my foot on the break so she doesn't stall or take off on me lol.. i just hope the transmission holds up until i can get a tci 'pro super' rebuild kit and shift kit.. but before any of that.. I NEED TIRES! lol

| no pics until i get rid of the bumpers.. they embarrass me to no end.. stupid things are welded AND bolted on.. i have a feeling the truck is going to spring up 3 inches when i cut them off.. they're crazy thick
shut up joe.. now i just have to wait for some of the mud to dry up.. the 302 in 4L hardly moves the truck on flat, solid ground.. it won't move an inch lmao.. next few days i'll be working on my micro so nothing will be happening with this
