| Check the filter head on the dual kit, it should have a manufacturer stamp on it. To my knowledge GM never made a dual filter kit on a light duty truck. | |

It takes either Dexron (sp?) II or III, I forget what year they changed over. I have used Royal Purple Max ATF in my 4L60-E for years and have never had any trouble. I would highly recommend it in yours. Yes, the 5.0 quarts is in regards to dropping the pan, changing the filter and refilling.

All i've ever done is drop the pan replace the filter, and fill her back up with Royal Purple. There is really no way to get all the fluid out, but I figure if I do it every 50K miles that by now (144K) most of the fluid is RP.
