Yeah my jackstands didn't even come close and don't worry about the safety of the birch stump that thing is a 12" log and the truck was still supported by the 3 ton chainfall that we where using because a floor jack would've just been in the way! Thank you merlin I'm so happy that this truck is finally coming together to see my huge pile of steel and my cardboard box full of parts finally disappearing!!! Oh... I couldn't ask for more!

| Thank you everybody! Now as far as the rust goes... Right now nothing will be done about the rust because as 76 so plainly put it I'm gonna be using it for what I built it for OFFROAD!!! Now what's the point of having a fancy body if I'm gonna be creasing body panels and bouncing it off trees? lol
***Update***
Since I posted the pics I have done quite a bit more work but with my job and family I can't work on it everyday so I've been working on it sparingly but after getting the rear axle under it I noticed that it bulldogged 3" in the rear. I personally can't stand the bulldog look so I went over to my friends custom 4x4 shop and went out back to his parts pile and got myself a set of front leaf springs from a M1009 CUCV blazer they are built to support the 6.2L diesel engine so by putting those in the back end I gained alittle over 3" of lift so now all I have to do is wait for my 1330x1350 series combo joint to come in tomorrow and then go get a new hub for my truck because the one I have now is fubar'd then after that the truck will be entirely completed!!!!
And speaking of my friends custom 4x4 shop if anybody is looking for rockwell axles or parts just let me know...

Not sure what the deuce 5's are but the 5 tons are 6.72.1 double reduction I can get fronts rears SRW or DRW I can get a matched pair for about 2000 that includes drums and hubs - In2Trux wrote:

When I here bulldogged.. I can't help but think your truck got hit by a MACK Truck LOL Yeah bulldogging is what trophy trucks do the front in way higher then the back This is what I'm talking about - 007jimmy wrote:

| I agree I hate that look so much!!!
More updates***
The truck now has the right hubs and brakes the brakes are bled and the truck drives steers and stops! Now all the needs to be done is the front springs need a spac er because of the flat top knuckles the drag link was relocated to the top of the steering arm insted of the bottom so it rubs the bottom of the leaf springs now and is a really bad rub one that would eventually shear my tie rod end in my cross over steering so it needs to be corrected and also one of the crossmembers in my frame needs to be moved because when the suspension cycles even the slightest the drive shaft rubs the crossmember and a fiberglass wrapped aluminum driveshaft verses a steel crossmember equals diaster!

| Ok so I've got some more pics!!! No action shots yet but it's still not quite ready for action shots yet still gotta fix the drag link and the crossmember but that is on this weekends agenda!!! So I should hopefully have some good shots by monday! So here is the front end... I think the lift kit makes it look way more aggressive compared to stock!! Here is the truck with no more bulldogging!!!! And here is the ever popular comparision shot my truck next to my wife's jimmy! | |
