Subject: Getting back into racing.... October 16th 2009, 2:08 pm
I'm thinking about trying to start racing locally again. I tried for years but went about it wrong and got fet up and stopped as I started college. But I'm thinking about trying it again. What I cant decide is whether to do stock cars or drag race. Growing up I have always loved stock cars and thats what I have always wanted to do. But lately I have liked watching drag racing . So which should I do? Stock cars? or drag racing?

Unless you have a huge budget, go drag racing. Stock cars are all about endurance and expensive parts. With drag racing you can find a 'stock' car for any class and bracket race.

Buy a 77 camaro with a 350, stroke it, bolt on some good flowing heads and intake, holley 650 cfm carb and a nice bump stick. Then do a lil tranny work, gears and springs and u got a race car.

I vote drag!! Nothing beats straight line performance!! Merlins right stock cars are all about endurance! After awhile fatigue begins to set in! With drag racing racing it's hit it and quit it and a constant flow of adrenaline!!
