| The EGR is only held on by two screws. Pull it off and take a look inside. If it is filled with carbon buildup and all black, then use some brake cleaner and clean some of it off. Let it dry before you re-install it. If it is clean, then the internal valve is not working correctly and you may need to replace it. A EGR valve should only cost a few bucks to replace, which i would do long before I paid 125 just to clean it. Also, the PCV valve is a crucial part of that system, and easily gets gummed up, so take a quick peek at that to make sure it is clean as well. Looks like this.... And is usually located right around here..... Then reset the computer by removing the POS+ cable from the battery and waiting a full 60 second before you reconnect. Drive it for about five to ten miles and see if the light comes back on and it is running a little better... Thats the best i got not being able to see it myself, hope that helps. | |
