BS that consumer report is alway false.

I know lot guys get higher than that number.

yeah.. 10mpg sounds extremely low.. i know of a few early 90's non-turbo diesel duallies that get a lot better than that

They are only talking about the 2010 F250 Lariat.
Not all F250s or F250s from the early 90s

And the consumers report is compiled from reports made by people that have bought these products (The Consumer)

Another reliable survey source would be JD Powers.

Both of these are NOT influenced by money or sponsorship.

i know that.. i'm comparing it to 90's F250's.. with how much fuel injection has 'advanced' since the early/mid 90's, how can ford let their gas mileage suddenly nose dive?

and if it's info compiled from buyers, than there lies the entire problem.. too many people in this world can't do math to save their lives

my truck is 17 years old with 370k on it and it gets 20+ pretty consistently. Not bad for a 7000 lb truck. All these years later they should be doing much better with all their technological advances, and computer controls.

One thing people always forget is weight. The average car has gone up over 500lbs in the past 15 years! Ford trucks are always on the heavier side when compared to the GM & Dodge trucks. That F-250 is a crew cab long bed with I believe is the 6.8L V10. 10MPG is right in line with the 11MPG Motortrend's test truck (in the same configuration) got.

oh.. V10.. that explains it. from what i understand, the guys at my old work believe the 5.4 triton has more grunt than the V10
