just curious, whats the idea behind relays when installing extra lights? i have 2 150 watt KC's on my 78, but i dont have them wired with a relay. im just wondering how it works and why you use it. thanks

a relay helps so you dont have to have such a high amperage wire running though your cab.. you can power the switch off something like your cig lighter then run that wire up to the relay. it also helps that you can mount the relay somewhere that it wont get wet and prevent a short like your tail lights.. lol

you should be able to pick up an electric pump for 20 bucks at autozone.. they are cheap and get you by for a year or so.. all you gotta do is pull off the lines from your stock mechanical pump and plumb the eletric one in.. use the stock pump as a block off plate but pull out the rod that goes into the timing cover..
