| true that, my mazda is an 88 and i never thought i would ever drive a jap truck, but guess what, its 100 times better than the old ranger we have, and just to be clear on the powerstrokes, ford is making their own motor in the upcoming months of 2010, because they dropped the deal with international and they will be makiing their very first ford diesel engine that isnt international. it is going to be the 6.7 turbo diesel, i forget what they call it now... | |

| 40% chevy 23%GMC same truck so 23+40= 63. . .63% of the forum that has voted has chosen GM over Ford which only has 26%
The forum has spoken Dodge suck's Ford's better then Dodge and GM is better then Ford . . .
My Ford experience:
2003 Ford F350SD 5.4L V8, 4spd auto, 4.33 gears 285/75R16 tires.
4R??? = JUNK ! Smoked 2 of them in 115K miles.
115,000/2 = 57500 miles that truck cost me $4,298.93 !
1995 Ford F150XLT 5.8l V8, 4spd auto, 3.55 gears 33x10.50R15 tires.
E40D = JUNK ! smoked 3 of them in 155k miles in truck that towed nothing !
155,000/3 = 51,666.667 miles so every 52,000 miles that truck cost me $3,898.87 !
1983 Ford mustang 2.3L I-4, 3spd auto trans, 3.55 gears, 235/60R14's front 255/50R16's rear OEM trans failed and first replacement trans failed with this setup. The it went to a 351 V8, C-4 stage 2 shift kit, 3.73 gears same tires.
C-4 = JUNK ! i smoked 2 of them in my stang in 89,273 miles i put on the car.
89,273/2 = 44636.5 so every 45,000 miles this car cost me $1,756.89 !
Smoked the second replacement trans got a warranted out trans free which failed 27,240 miles later. . .
8 automatic transmission failures in Ford's 7 of which i had to pay for . . .
GM auto trans failures 0 tho the 6.5er might have been my first GM auto trans failure but it isn't for certain yet so its not counted . . .
The 6.5er was the first of many Issue never before had with a GM product which lead me to the GM-diesel should be avoided mind set just like Ford automatics should be avoided.
But adding the GM+Dodge failures i've had Ford still cost me way more money and ton's more down time . . .
Mike

| all that poll says at the top is that more people on this forum has GM products than anything else. Of course alot of members havent voted and this is a small percentage of people that own trucks. | |
