| well, for the past couple of years, i have been planning on attending the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), for Diesel Engine Service and Agricultural Equipment Service. it was going to cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $40k but since it was what i wanted to do after high school, i was willing to take out all the student loans and money to help pay for it. yesterday, my dad was talking to me about school after high school and was happy that i at least wanted to do something with my life. he also brought to my attention the school called High Tech Central (HTC), on Michigan Ave. in Ft Myers, about 15-20 miles away from my house. so yesterday, i decided that instead of traveling 1,278 miles to drive to ohio for school, and i am switching my interests in classes. everyone here knows (or should know) that i live in Florida, which is one of the most popular states to own boats. HTC is a school, a vocational school, that costs way less than UNOH, is much closer, much more convienent, and the best part that i learned about HTC is that they have help with job placement for the career of study... so i will probably be attending HTC in hopefully about 3 weeks as i will be dual enrolling at my highschool and HTC, and instead of being up in Ohio for 2 years, HTC i can learn everything in prolly 8-10 months. and all i would have gotten from UNOH is a certification, no job placement. Any thoughts on Marine Mechanics? | |

| um... the class at the new school for diesel is called "Medium and Heavy Duty Buses and Trucks" so im guessing thats the diesel part of it. i dont know if i am going to or not yet, im am still undecided on that right now. as for the water works, lol, florida had alot of water in fact, florida is the only state that has major bodies of water on all 3 sides of it. marine mechanics down here are hard to find for deals, most of them charge alot because of the fact that they work all the time and anywhere. with the job placement at HTC, i could even score a job at Sea Tow, which their starting pay is just over 12 bucks an hour. today i went into my high school, and i had an appointment with the career counselor, only i have to go back tomarrow because she wasnt there today, but from what i hear, if i dual enroll with high school and HTC, it wont cost me anything. but if i had already graduated and went to go to college there, it would be 1,400 bucks due on the first day, so i think i caught them right at time. i will update this tomarrow when i get more information. | |

| well, that doesnt count, lol jk.
anyways, i went back into school today and they are starting my paperwork for HTC. i have to go see the career counselor the first week of school so i can find out when my orientation is and also, i have to have 3 more credits to graduate.
this means, i need math, history, and english credit. i have to take my english class on florida virtual school, which doesnt cost anything, and the other 2 i will take in the morning before i go to HTC. all of this is completely FREE which i was totally surprised with, even the online school is free.

| yeah, i was happy to hear that it wouldnt cost me anything to attend and with the certification and automatic job placement for my field of study after i graduate, it was something that i just couldnt pass up.
but on another note, for 3 years, i have been wanting to attend the UNOH school and last minute i have changed my mind of my school AND my field of study, which in turn i think is going to change my whole entire life and future, which is really strange how the small stuff can do that. im even starting to rethink my truck driving career because i wont be studing that and since i will be a certified boat and marine engine mechanic,i will be making a lot of money and i might even open my own bnoat repair buisness down here.
you may have to change my SN to Boater_Eric, lol jk
