| That came out a while ago. It was suppose to be their 1-ton version but when the Tundra sales flopped, they pulled the plug. Would have been a beast though. | |

Not to my knowledge. The Hino Diesel they where going to use was having difficulty meeting the 2010 emissions and that (plus other things) pushed the cost way up.

| what a disaster of a truck.... would it be like the tundra and have a huge engine but no towing capacity? yes i think it would, they planned on using an 8.3L HINO engine..... wtf! just a waste of an engine... | |

| Well guys this one I may be of some use on.
When 1 ton Toy's came into the picture I didn't think it would ever happen let alone last. Well when the sales flopped I thought so did the concept but the company I work for Stromberg Carlson Products we build custom fitted vented 5th wheel tailgates and we got a propsal... The proposal was to design and build 5th wheel tailgates for the 2010 Toy's. We just finished the 2010 dodge gate today and they will be doing the final fit check tomorrow and if all goes well they'll be in production by the first of the week and we'll start the 2010 Toy design. So the 1 ton toy's can't be doing that bad otherwise we wouldn't be building them. We are a big time supplier of 5th wheel gates we aren't just some backwoods fab shop I personally build 23+ gates aday 5 days a week. And we've been told by Toyota I do believe that if we build them then the suppliers will buy them.

| Ok... Well I don't exactly follow the new truck trends. The post I made above was based solely on what I heard from the guys at the shop. So there is no 1 ton toy... My bad. However I do know for a fact that stromberg carlson is designing a custom fitted vented 5th wheel tailgate for production and we wouldn't spend time and money designing something that there is no market for!!! We already have a glass filled composite gate of toyota's and will soon be producing powdercoated steel gates. So I guess they'll have to haul their 5th wheels with the 1/2 ton toyota's! Either way Toyota's getting into the towing game one way or another otherwise I wouldn't be staring at CAD designs for Toyota Tailgates! | |

| you might be right, 1/2tons are completely possible, there are a lot of them on the roads now, i see no reason why guys who buy them wouldnt try to tow with them, after all why buy a truck, or at lease something that resembles a truck.... | |
