| as yall may know i listed my jimmy on craigslist as a full part out and have gotten rid of a bunch of stuff off it.. the grill, headlights, bumper, guages and rims and tires are gone right now.. i got about 900 bucks for all that stuff and chris is getting the rear axle and front windshield and the lift kit it going to a freind who i owe a few bucks for my lockout key set.. but anyways the interior is pretty much trashed and im gonna strip the rest of the drivetrain out and sell all that too so all that will be left are a shell with all the doors and a frame.. rather then cut it up and scrap it like i was gonna i figure it would be the perfect starting point for a full mud truck build.. i have all the front suspension parts minus the leafs and axles.. so im gonna get me some lift leafs for the front and rear and then use some dana 60 axles.. or even better if fazel ever get back to me about the rockwells i will be using them.. i have an lt1 at the shop that just needs main bearing and the crank polished out so all i really need is a 700r4 and transfer case.. then make some driveshafts out of box steel and figure out the front steering.. im gonna leave my dash and steering wheel in place so i have a good starting point there.. ill get an astrovan steering box because it bolts into my stock location but moves the pitman arm to where i need it.. jeep drop pitman and then ill have the crossover steering.. exxo cage, sliding ragtop. dovetail front end, winch bumpers for the front and rear and atleast 40 inch mudders to top it off.. thats just the vision in my head.. yall know i change my mind like my daughter goes through diapers but one thing is for sure its gonna be rediculous when its done.. totally illegal to drive on the streets but great for the trails.. something about stripping it apart and sitting there thinking of what was and what could have been got the juices flowing again.. its probley gonna sit in my shop for the summer while im gathering parts and all but soon as winter hits or work slows down a little its on.. here is a pic of how she is sitting now.. hope you likey.. lol | |
