jump to about 5:45. I think that old ford beat out most of the newer trucks.

Nice video, I think that white/gray Ford would have done A LOT better with narrower tires.
On a side note, anyone want to guess the 'correct' way to shut down a run away diesel?

My guess is the wide tires and 'relatively' light weight of the truck just made him spin, which made the mud slick, so he walked it trying to find traction.

If its a standard you can stall it like he did, otherwise you have to find a way to shut down the air. A block of wood over the intake or a shirt or jacket shoved in there will do the trick.

Regardless of transmission, the easiest and most sure way to kill the engine is a C02 fire extinguisher. No air, no fire. Guaranteed to shut it right off.

We had a 692 Detroit run away on a dyno at school. Scary as hell to see in person. Sucked a leather jacket right through the turbo and kept on purring.
Ended up dumping an entire fire extinguisher into the intake to kill it.

wow. When dad used to haul coal they all had R model macks. He said thats the first time hes ever seen one run backwards. said it was blowing smoke right out the breathers lol
