FINALLY!!!!!!! I got a suburb!!! It's a 1991, it's a 3/4 ton, 14 bolt rear, dana 44 front, 4l80 E trans, no lift, clears 33 inch tires. It has a Hallmark interior that was a aftermarket upgrade, done by a shop in arizona.... Big comfy captain chairs first and second rows....

So, now my question to you Chevy guys..... I was driving it down the road today, hit a small bump, and lost all power on the ignition switch.... Motor died, radio shut off, everything that is on the steering column dead..... Head lights, tail lights, and markers, as well as dome lights worked... Then when I was getting towed back to the house, hit another bump and it all came back..... Which conector do you think is loose? Before I get pissed and rewire the whole truck,(installed a stereo today, and the wiring has been hacked to pieces under the dash...) I'm thinking a ground for the igniton switch itself might be the culprit, but what do you fellers think? Pictures are soon coming, I just gotta get to the inlaws again..

Engine ground or battery cable would be my guess. Thanks for the update Batty, cant wait to see pictures!

Well, it was a combination of Idiocy that prevented my truck from starting....... The previous owners had changed the battery cables out..... The ground end wasn't tight at the motor, and the power wire wasn't tight at the lug on the starter.... In fact, they had cross threaded the nut on about 2 turns... Which just didn't allow power to transfer from cable to Ignition power wire...... Tightened both ends up, and Wala!!!!

Now we're nearing the end of pg 3 and still no pictures. I'm beginning to wonder if there is even a camera. Rolling Eyes

What a piece!!! I remember my Dad brought something like this home, back when I was younger. And said. Here ya go son.. Now we have a father son project. Needless to say. We didn't even start it. I wasn't gonna touch the rust bucket, and wasn't handy at all. He hauled it off to scrap.

Alright...

1991 V2500 suburban
3/4 ton 4x4
5.7 V8 engine, 143,000 miles
4L80E auto trans,
NP241 transfercase
14 bolt rear, dana 44 front.
aftermarket captain chairs front and 2nd seat.
It has a power steering cooler, trans cooler, and engine oil cooler.
it has 2 inch lift springs front and rear, running a 33" tire. Has a single in/single out 50 series, 3 chamber flowmaster exhaust, with 2 1/2 inch pipe.

Gonna be building a new front bumper that will handle a collision with a deer, winch mount, and integrated plow mounts. a rear bumper with ladder, and spare tire holder, and spare gas can holder built in. the ladder will run up to a roof rack that will have a tent that is built for it. the back part will be filled with tool boxes, and spare parts...... eventually a air compressor will be put into place somewhere. Ordered the CB radio, and antennas today, and hopefully will begin the build on monday when I can get materials. so, watch for pictures, now that I found the camera.
