I've heard of it happening but never seen it in person. Just pics! But I have seen a dana 60 pumpkin crack right in half I've also seen a carrier shell break! So it's not uncommon for the ujoint to actually wihstand quite a large force I'm just trying to think of something that would've caused it to break.
