| Is there a table, chart or a thread with info on liter to cubic inch conversions on here yet? We are having a debate over here on the mathmatical formula to figure that out and I cannot seem to find it.... you know, like how the GM 5.7l is equal to the 350 and stuff..... we are arguing over what the CI value is for a 6.8l V8. Anyone? | |

| 61 cubic inches in a liter. The debate comes from rounding. Because of the conversion factor of 10ths (as in 5 & 7ths liters) VS actual inches some overlap up to 6 inches can occur. For example, a Chevy 350 is a 5.7L, but so is a LS1 that displaces 346 cubic inches. As long as the tenths dont exceed 6 cubic inches, you can have two different cubic inch engines with the same displacement.
I'm assuming your 6.8L is the Ford V10 and I can tell you it displaces 415 cubic inches. I dont know of anyone making a 6.8L V8.

| No. GM has a new monster V8 in the Sierra pushing 408hp and we wanted to know what the displacement was. I just saw the commercial for it the other day.... now I could be wrong, you know GM better then most people, they may have said 6.2l V8... see now you have me doubting myself...... LOL | |

| that e85 crap is what gives it its power.. it gives you an instant 10-15 hp after you convert it cause its a higher octane. its almost like a 93 octane and race gas mix.. | |

| The 6.2L is a 379 cubic inch engine and is a beast. There are a bunch of different engine codes for it but it is used in the Camaro, Corvette, Escalade, The Denali series, and the CTS-V, its a true work horse engine.
Joe, the LS1 was 346 Cubic inches (5.7L) and production stopped in 2004.
E85 is roughly 105 octane but it has a lower energy content and is more corrosive then Gasoline. Like all fuels it has its disadvantages and benefits. Just dont expect to see me using it.

I think a 5.0 is = to a 302 See, that is a great example of rounding. 302/61= 4.94 but because Ford already had a 4.9L (the 300) they didnt want people getting confused, and called it the 5.0
