Congrats man!! New parts are always great! Not to mention radiators are alway so easy to replace! I'd rather swap a radiator or a water pump then change a u joint any day!

i hope it wound up looking like that after you took it out.. if you were driving the truck around with a radiator looking like that, you were asking to over heat the motor.. YIKKES

Haha, look at the right tank. There's no way it would even allow water to jump the gap, lol.

Well, its been about a week and I am proud to say there are no oil or coolant leaks from my radiator. I'm calling this a successful repair.

Congrats on the sucessful repair... GMC the writting on the fan shroud is for coolant freeze temp testing! In the northern states we test our coolant to make sure that we don't end up utilizing our freeze plugs in the winter time...

Thanks guys! All in all it was pretty easy of a repair.

GMC, Fasel is correct. The yellow writing says '-20* 11/11/06' its what the coolant was rated for and the date it was tested at the dealership. I did a complete coolant flush and replaced all the coolant when I did the radiator, I tested it to -31* but as you can see I couldnt get the old marker off so I just left it. -10* is the coldest it gets around me so even at that temperature I would be ok.

Nice catch BTW GMC. Most people dont notice the writing.
