I told my mechanic that I am pretty sure I have given him 40% of my annual income! Just for this vehicle!

I guess its a Jeep thing.

Some battle with flare, Some beg you to stare,
Some roar like a Bear, Or think that it's rare,
But I say, 'Who cares?' My Jeep's over there,
It may not have flare, but it will drive right over theirs!

Awesome thread Jr. That rig is getting nicer and nicer every week.

It's funny.. We think a good day wheeling is a day you don't break anything.
But even those days you go out wheeling and you do break something, it can still be considered a good day wheeling.

Well, I am once again crawling out of my skin. As long as the weather holds out, (rain wise) I am going to attempt to install my Bushwacker cut-out fender flares this weekend! And do a little body work and some painting...

Wish me luck!

Okay, I was dodging Thunderstorms all weekend long, but I got it done! Started Friday afternoon and it took me until noon today, (Monday) to finish! With the help of my wonderful girlfriend, this Jeep of mine looks awesome!

These are the Bushwhacker CUT-OUT Flat style fender flares. Hence why it took so long....LOL

Well, on with the best part, the PICTURES!...LMAO

First, I had to paint them, because I wanted to keep a similar two-tone as I had, and NOT go with black trim like so many that I have seen.....

After a special primer, and three coats of paint, it was dark, so this was the best pic I could get....

Then, the old flares had to come off.....

Then Marked what needed cut....

And went to town. Had to start and stop due to the weather, but they came out perfect....

Before I installed the new ones, I had a few issues to address. I wanted to paint the trim the same color as the flares, and I needed to relocate my horns.....

First, I moved my horns from here....

and put them here.....

And boy do they sound funky there....lol....

Then I taped everything off.....

Primed and painted my trim along the doors, and both my front and rear bumpers to match the flares I mainted.... I also undercoated my wheel wells, but I do not have a clear picture of that....

Got the brackets for the flares officially installed this morning.....

Look how close to the door.... so nice... LOL

Looks good, eh?

So, the 33's went back on and I cleaned up, finally!

Totally Bitchin'. They look great, but now I think you need wider tires... I can't wait untill you rub one off on a tree, Ha Ha Ha! You did a great job not being a body man. They let you look at the real beauty of the jeep, what's underneath...

I have rims on order, should be here tomorrow that will widen the stance. They have a lighter backspacing and a stronger offset. So that should fix that problem...

Meanwhile, I am thinking they are just too small...LOL... 35's anyone? LMAO

I wish I had more timr for the body work Chris, I would sanded a little more, leveled out a little more, and been a little more anal about the taping. I did get some overspray in a few spots.... but hey, its a jeep right? And its going to get bitched up anyways, so I am happy with it!

Now, Metalman.... Where is yours!?!?!?! LOL

I know it has been a while since I updated this thread... been busy... However, I do have some cool updates. Smile

Since I bought this Jeep, I have been fighting with the exhaust. Well, it finally fell off and broke completely. And what happens when your jeep breaks? UPGRADE. Wink I hate the word stock, or OEM replacement, so I went shopping. Found a good deal on a PaceSetter Split header, high flow cat, and a nice muffler. Then with some help from a good mechanic, a few days of time spent bending and calculating, this bad boy is now running DUALS! Check it out \/ \/

Then a good shot of the dual pipes while in the air....

Some shots of the exhaust piping and parts....

Pipes exit behind the rear wheels, was the only way to keep them out of the way for when I wheel it.

Now it is still unfinished, IMO, so I am looking at the 8" tips from an older corvette to mold into the rear quaters to really keep it out of the way... figure it would look sorta like this???...

But that will be after the new year I am sure.

Also in the meantime, one of the guys in the shop here at work wanted my factory airbox so he can run a snorkel kit on his Xj, so for free, he swapped in a K&N intake for me...

So there is great airflow. With the header, intake and full high flow dual exhaust, she rumbles, growls and roars like a V8! Have even beens asked a few times if I did a V8 swap. Wink

Now that the exhaust is finally tucked up tight, complete and DONE, all my CE lights are now gone and my fuel mileage has returned. YAY!

So what do you guys think? All together, with header and labor and 2 O2 sensors, cat and muffler, the whole project only ran 700 bucks. Wink

One of my customers here at work was so thrilled with the service I provided, that in exchange, he offered me his old light bar, and 4 KC HiLITES for FREE! Its a stealth light bar, with four 6X9 KC lites. Granted, I have to still find the relays and switches to hook them up, but what was I going to say? NO? yeah right!

Anyways, here are some pics of the lights, they were in his garage un touched for years, so they were dirty! I but they cleaned up super nice!

Like I said, they were dirty.... LMAO....

Just got them home last night night, and after the superbowl, I spent some time cleaning them up....

Now, I was going to get them on the Jeep today to take some pictues, however it turns out I do not have the right tool. Its a tamper proof ALLEN head screw, I had the tourge heads screw drivers.... LMAO.... So it may be a few days yet as I track down the right tool....

But what do ya think? Pretty huh?!

Okay, i have some pictures of the bumpers I bought. I want to preface this post with how I feel about the folks at Logan's Metal Products. They went out of their way to make sure I was a satisfied customer. To the point where Jamie drove out and delivered the bumpers to me herself. Say what you want about the company, but I am very happy with the service....

That being said, here are some pictures. Now, these were 1. taken from my phone, 2. taken at night with very little light and 3. my batt was only 5% for them.... LMAO..... So forgive the crappiness of the pictures themselves. I left my actual camera at home this weekend.

Here are some shots as they were delivered....

I put on three coats of high grade primer, followed by four coats of trim matching paint. (was only going to do three, but after some sanding, it needed a fourth), and was only able to get one coat of clear on it before my garage heater blew up.... so I am thinking they will have to come off again this spring and re-done....LOL.... Anyways, tomorrow they will be installed, (hopefully the winch too is UPS cooperates) so I will get some really good pics then...

But here are some after two days of painting....

Keep a keen eye out, I am pretty sure there will be a bunch more pictures come
