Well have you check all chevy trucks in Michigan? Amazing it rot too.

No matter what brand of truck will not survive in Michigan for 20 years before rot to ground.

Just be glad you found it now instead of later, that could have led to one hell of an accident.

you best bet to get them rivits out is to cut an X in the head with a cutoff wheel and then air chisel them off.... if you aint got an air chisel then your next best bet is the good old sledge and metal chisel..

how much bigger is it compaired to the hole its supposed to go in? it should fit rather tight in there.. i usually throw bushings like that in the freezer for a couple hours to shrink them a little.. then they just slide right in and then will swell up when they defrost..

I dunno, i know their supposed to fit tight, but what i took out was the rubber, the metal peice inside and the bolt. This new bushing has all of that plus a metal peice around the outside. Ill throw it in the freezer to see if it helps

Looks good john glad it didn't break with a big load on... I've had a leaf spring shackle break like that on a old mud truck of mine I lauched out of a mud hole I heard a snap and felt a thud and found the leaf spring against the bottom of the bed. Nothing too bad though had to make a nice chain shackle repair never took a photo though... Shame it was genius.
