my driver rear wheel is lockin up. i pulled the drum and found this.

brakes 100_0613
theres fluid on the hub, i just dont know the cause of the lock-up. any ideas? im thinkin the piston

wheel cylinder.. when they go bad, they start to leak and eventually push 1 of the pistons out and it locks in sideways

accually the backing plates get grooved.. as you can see in the pic the cylinder is all the way depressed so it isnt stuck out.. once they pop out by themselves they usually dont go back into place.. take your pads off and check the backing plate for wear and grooves.. i bet you thats what it is.. i see it all the time.. i usually just fill it with weld and grind them smooth again if you have to take the axle out to get a new backplate on..

if i were you i would take the 50 bucks and just re do both rear breaks springs and all. things like that are best to be replaced.

good luck finding an advanced autoparts around here with somebody with a brain behind the counter here... autozone has old fat guys that know what they are talking bout lol

just get a new one.. they are like 10 bucks... do both sides with some new drums and shoes for under 150 bucks.. they you wont have to worry about them for another 10 years
